Carbon Capture Technology
- GHG has the capability to perform engineering optimization for carbon capture technology by adopting existing technology available in the market.
- Flue Gas - capture of CO₂ in flue gases by amine process, post combustion from exhaust stack/ chimney, filter the SOx & NOx from flue gas then separate and extract the CO₂ from flue gas.
- Synthesis Gas – capture of CO₂ from gas processing facilities that contains carbon monoxide, hydrogen and carbon dioxide components.
- Natural gas sweetening, separating natural gas and CO₂ gas. The CO₂ will be processed through a sulphur filtration and a catalytic combustion to remove remaining hydrocarbons, for final liquefaction and purification.
- Biogas – capture of biogas from palm oil mill effluent (POME), for larger size of palm oil refinery a possibility is to capture and separate the CO₂ from methane. The methane can be further utilised as fuel to produce electricity by a gas engine genset and steam and hot water can be utilised for the FFB and POME. Further to that CO₂ can be captured by filtration, liquefaction and purification to final storage.
Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) - Energy System
- GHG is actively collaborating with partners from around the world to bring forward the latest technology in the CO₂ industry. We provide advanced process technologies for capturing CO₂ from various sources, including flue gas, industrial gases such as syngas, and biogas. Additionally, we specialize in utilizing captured CO₂ for Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), enabling increased extraction of oil from reservoirs while promoting sustainable and environmentally conscious practices.
- What Is Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR)?
Enhanced oil recovery (EOR), also known as “tertiary recovery,” is a process for extracting oil that has not already been retrieved through the primary or secondary oil recovery techniques.
Although the primary and secondary recovery techniques rely on the pressure differential between the surface and the underground well, enhanced oil recovery functions by altering the chemical composition of the oil itself in order to make it easier to extract.
